Look, kids! Big Ben; Parliament! -- Part One (due to technical difficulties)

We began our day with a walk through Green Park to Buckingham Palace.  We have tickets to take a tour of the State rooms on Friday, but we wanted to try to visit the Queen's Gallery and Royal Mews this morning.  First, we decided to introduce the kids to a novel concept called a phone booth.  London has maintained its phone booths (with no phones inside, of course), so we crammed all of the kids inside one for a fun photo opportunity.
Sidney commented that at least Superman still stands a chance of being able to change clothes in London.  In the US, he is out of luck. Once at our destination, we took a quick photo with the Victoria Memorial...

And the Buckingham Palace gates...

We arrived at the Queen's Gallery, to find out that you can't just pop in at the Queen's Gallery and expect to be able to see the artwork.  Apparently, it is an intimate affair, because they told us that they couldn't accommodate our party of 6 on a moment's notice.  We were able to get timed tickets for Friday, so we will view the artwork after we tour the State rooms.

The royal horses and carriages don't mind if you pop in on them, so we were able to walk right into the Royal Mews.  Lyndon was interested in the Royal Riding School.  The new royal children will train here when they are old enough.

My computer is not cooperating at this moment, so I am going to post this part and continue the rest tonight.  It is trying to post all of my pictures sideways.  In order to keep everyone from getting a sore neck or vertigo, I will retry after we go sightseeing today. My apologies!
